If you are a user of Xero and would like to link your Currencies Direct account to Xero, please follow the instructions below:
Steps to connect Xero bank account:
- Log in to Currencies Direct
- Go to ‘Profile’ icon at the top right-hand side and select the ‘Xero integration.’
- Click 'Connect.’
- Click Log in to Xero and authenticate the connection.
- You will be directed to the Xero authorization page. Select 'Allow access' to allow Currencies Direct to connect to your Xero account.
In rare cases, a connection may fail even if a user is actually connected. This happens when you have to select a Xero organization. You can resolve this issue by clicking “Select organization” from the “Connect to Xero” dropdown (Step 3). If the connection still fails after you have selected a Xero organization, please contact [email protected]
- Choose the organization within your Xero account to connect to Currencies Direct. The organization should correspond to the legal entity associated with your Currencies Direct account. Each account can only connect to one organization.
- You will then be directed to a configuration page. Here, you can select the Xero accounts that correspond with your Currencies Direct accounts. You have the option to either connect to an existing Xero bank account or create a new one.
- Additionally, you’ll need to select a ‘Feed Start Date,’ which refers to the date from which you want to sync the transactions. For example, selecting a feed start date of January 3rd will sync all transactions from January 3rd onwards. After this step, the bank feed setup is complete.
- View confirmation message and click 'Done' to return to the 'currency account' view.
New transaction data will automatically be synchronised from any of your Currencies Direct currency accounts connected to a Xero bank account after you have successfully connected.

Each Currencies Direct account can only be connected to a single Xero account. For example, suppose you have three different legal entities. In that case, you should create three organizations in Xero (each organization in Xero represents one legal entity) and then connect the corresponding Currencies Direct account for each entity to the corresponding Xero organization. However, you can connect an indefinite number of Currencies Direct accounts to a single Xero account.
